Spotify Integration

ReleaseLoop pulls live data from the Spotify API so your artist profiles always reflect their current streaming presence. No more screenshotting Spotify for Artists or manually updating follower counts before a pitch.

When you add or refresh an artist from Spotify, ReleaseLoop pulls:

  • Profile photo — the artist’s current Spotify profile image, used across your workspace and EPKs
  • Follower count — current number of Spotify followers, a key metric for playlist curators and booking agents
  • Popularity score — Spotify’s 0—100 popularity metric, useful for gauging momentum and comparing artists on your roster
  • Spotify ID — used for ongoing sync so the data stays linked to the correct profile

When building out your roster:

  1. Click Add Artist
  2. Type the artist name in the search field
  3. Select the correct artist from Spotify results — pay attention if you have artists with common names
  4. The profile is created with Spotify data pre-populated, saving you from hunting down photos and stats manually

If you have artists that were added manually or imported before Spotify sync was available:

  1. Go to the Artists page
  2. Click Refresh from Spotify (available for admin/owner roles)
  3. All un-enriched artists with matching Spotify profiles will be updated

This is particularly useful when you have just onboarded a batch of artists — for example, after signing a distribution deal or migrating from another platform.

From an artist’s detail page (Discography tab), you can import their Spotify discography. This creates release entries for their albums, EPs, and singles — a fast way to build out a back catalog when you sign a new artist or start managing someone with an existing body of work.

You do not need to connect a personal Spotify account or Spotify for Artists. The integration uses Spotify’s public API to search for and retrieve artist data, so any team member in your workspace can add and refresh artists.
