Managing Contacts
The Contacts page is your industry CRM — the place to track every playlist curator, blogger, radio programmer, PR contact, sync supervisor, promoter, and influencer you work with. Instead of scattered spreadsheets and lost email threads, your entire network lives in one place, linked to the releases and campaigns they are connected to.
Adding a contact
Section titled “Adding a contact”- Go to the Contacts page
- Click Add Contact
- Fill in their details:
- First name and Last name — the contact’s name split into parts (optional). As you type them, the Name field fills in automatically as “First Last”.
- Name — the contact’s full display name. This is what shows everywhere (lists, search, EPKs). It is auto-filled from first/last, but you can edit it directly — handy for companies or outlets that are not a person (e.g. “Pitchfork”). Once you edit it by hand, first/last stop overwriting it.
- Email — their primary email (the one you actually pitch to)
- Phone — phone number (optional)
- Company — their outlet, label, agency, or platform (optional)
- Website — their site, playlist profile, or portfolio link (optional)
- Social links — social media profiles
- Category — their role in the industry (see below)
- Genres — the music genres they cover, curate, or are interested in
Contact categories
Section titled “Contact categories”Organize contacts by what they do so you can quickly pull the right list for each campaign:
- Playlist curator — Spotify editorial and independent playlist curators, Apple Music curators, YouTube playlist channels
- Blogger / Writer — music journalists, blog editors, Substack writers, review sites
- PR / Publicist — press agents, campaign publicists, communications teams
- Influencer — TikTok creators, Instagram music accounts, YouTube tastemakers
- Radio — radio programmers, college radio music directors, satellite and online radio hosts
- Promoter — live event promoters, booking agents, festival talent buyers
- Other — sync supervisors, A&R contacts, distribution reps, or anyone else in your network
Relationship status
Section titled “Relationship status”Track where each contact stands in your outreach so you know who to follow up with and who has already passed:
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Outreach | On your list but you have not reached out yet |
| Contacted | You have sent a pitch or introduction |
| Interested | They have responded positively — a playlist add is pending, a review is in progress, a sync is being considered |
| Not Interested | They passed on this one — still worth keeping for future releases that may be a better fit |
Searching and filtering
Section titled “Searching and filtering”When you are building a promo list for a new single or targeting contacts for a specific genre:
- Search by name, email, or company to find a specific person quickly
- Filter by category — pull up only curators when you are doing playlist outreach, or only bloggers when you need press coverage
- Filter by relationship status — focus on contacts who have shown interest, or revisit ones you have not reached out to yet
- Filter by genre — find contacts who cover hip-hop for your hip-hop release, or electronic music contacts for your dance single
Linking contacts to releases
Section titled “Linking contacts to releases”Contacts can be linked to specific releases, which ties your promo work directly to each campaign. This way you can see which curators, bloggers, and radio programmers were pitched for a given single or album — and what came of it.
Plan limits
Section titled “Plan limits”| Plan | Contact limit |
