Tracks

The Tracks tab on a release is where you manage the individual songs that make up the release. Getting your track metadata right here means cleaner distributor deliveries and accurate royalty reporting down the line.

Adding tracks

1. Open a release and go to the Tracks tab
2. Click Add Track
3. Fill in the track details:
   • Title — the song title exactly as it should appear on streaming platforms
   • ISRC — International Standard Recording Code (you will get this from your distributor or can register codes directly through your national ISRC agency)
   • ISWC — International Standard Musical Work Code (optional — relevant if you are tracking publishing alongside master rights)
   • Track number — position on the release
   • Artist credits — performers on this specific track, which may differ from the primary release artist (for example, a featured vocalist on one track of an album)

Why ISRCs matter

ISRCs are the key that connects your tracks to money. When you import royalty statements from distributors like DistroKid, TuneCore, or CD Baby, ReleaseLoop matches each row in the CSV to your tracks using ISRC codes. Without ISRCs, royalty data ends up in your unmatched queue and you lose visibility into per-track earnings.

If you manage a catalog of any size, take the time to add ISRCs to every track. It pays off immediately once you start importing statements.

Editing and removing tracks

• Click on any track to update its title, ISRC, credits, or other metadata
• Reorder tracks by changing track numbers — useful when the tracklist shifts during production
• Remove tracks that get cut from the final release

Track metadata

Each track can store:

• Title and track number
• ISRC and ISWC codes
• Contributing artists — especially important for compilations, features, and multi-artist EPs where individual track credits differ from the release-level artist
