Notifications
When you are running a release campaign, missed deadlines cost you. A late playlist pitch means you miss the editorial window. A forgotten distributor delivery means your release does not go live on time. Notifications keep you and your team accountable — even if you are the only person in the workspace.
Notification types
Section titled “Notification types”| Notification | When it triggers | Who gets notified |
|---|---|---|
| Task assigned | When a task is assigned to you | The assignee |
| Task due soon | 24 hours before a task’s due date | The assignee |
| Task overdue | When a task passes its due date without being completed | The assignee |
| Release due soon | 24 hours before a release date | All workspace members |
| New comments | When someone comments on a release in your workspace | Release participants |
| Team activity | When someone joins your workspace | Workspace owner |
Task due soon, Task overdue, and Release due soon are checked automatically every day at 9 AM UTC. You do not need to be logged in — the system scans for upcoming deadlines and sends notifications on its own.
In-app notifications
Section titled “In-app notifications”Click the bell icon in the top navigation to view your notifications. New notifications appear as a badge count on the bell.
From the notification panel you can:
- View all recent notifications with color-coded icons by type
- Click a notification to jump straight to the relevant task or release
- Mark individual notifications as read, or mark all as read at once
Email notifications
Section titled “Email notifications”Each notification is also sent as an individual email, so your team gets alerted about approaching deadlines even when they are not actively in ReleaseLoop. This is especially useful for freelance publicists or part-time collaborators who are not in the app every day.
Email digest
Section titled “Email digest”Instead of (or in addition to) individual emails, you can receive a summary digest:
- Go to Settings > Notifications
- Under Email Digest, choose Daily or Weekly
- Daily digests are sent each morning with all unread notifications from the past 24 hours
- Weekly digests are sent on Mondays with all unread notifications from the past week
If you have no unread notifications, no digest is sent.
Configuring preferences
Section titled “Configuring preferences”- Go to Settings > Notifications
- Toggle each notification type on or off
- Choose your email digest frequency (None, Daily, or Weekly)
By default, notifications are turned off for new accounts. Enable the ones that matter to your workflow.
Available toggles:
- Task assignments — when someone assigns you to a task
- Tasks due soon — 24 hours before a task is due
- Overdue tasks — when a task passes its due date
- Releases due soon — 24 hours before a release date
- New comments — comments on releases in your workspace
- Team activity — when someone joins your workspace
Solo users
Section titled “Solo users”You do not need a team to benefit from notifications. If you are the only person in your workspace, you will still receive:
- Task due soon and Task overdue notifications for any tasks you have assigned to yourself
- Release due soon notifications for all upcoming releases in your workspace
These are checked automatically every day, so you get a daily heads-up about what needs your attention — even if you are not logged into ReleaseLoop.
Recommended setup
Section titled “Recommended setup”- For solo artists and managers: Enable “Tasks due soon,” “Overdue tasks,” and “Releases due soon” so you never miss a deadline. Add a daily email digest so you get a morning summary.
- For label managers: Enable all notification types so you see when tasks are assigned, approaching, and overdue across your roster.
- For team members: Enable “Task assigned” so you know immediately when you have new work, and “Tasks due soon” so you get a 24-hour heads-up before deadlines.
- For everyone on a release campaign: At minimum, turn on “Releases due soon” and “Tasks due soon.” A 24-hour warning before a playlist pitch deadline or a content due date can save an entire release cycle.
